I have a question for every person who has felt or is feeling suicidal or has tried it:
Why didn’t you kill yourself? Did you find a reason to hang on? Maybe you realized your friends and family would be miserable without you. They all love you, they’re your family. But does that make them happy? If you weren’t there in the first place, would they be happier without you? Sure, you can make people laugh from time to time, but do you really leave a mark on anyone that doesn’t hurt them? Do you walk through people’s lives and just complicate it as you go and make it much worse than it has to be? Maybe.
Then maybe you realize that reason you hung on wasn’t strength, but weakness. You realize your selfishness has made you think you deserve what you have, when you know, deep down inside, that you don’t.
So do you really have a reason to keep living and hold on, or do you just want to?
